The rains lasted only several days before the clouds finally burst, and sunshine and warmth was bestowed upon the world once again.
The forest was always lively after a rainstorm. The birds would emerge from their homes by the dozens, singing twice as much as usual in their delight at meeting with a storm-scrubbed sky. The smaller animals, squirrels and rabbits alike, flitted happily up trees or through meadows. The deer, as well, took to roaming the forest for fresh new growth to eat, and the fawns rejoiced because they were out of their dens and free to play among each other.
Even the Great Prince of the forest was not immune to the new d
